Lets see.
I created this account in 2011, but sadly, I don't really know how to do things here. What can I say. I'm not a tech. Wiz. heh.
So. Now is 2016 on January. In the past few years, plenty of ups and downs happened. Some makes me wanna go crazy, while some just wanna make me smile and laugh whole day.
In 2012, the most distinct achievement that I had is passed my oral examination with the Malaysian Marine Department, which subsequently awarded me with a Class 3 Cert. of Competency (COC). I have to admit. This is the second time I took this exam as the first time, I, sadly, failed. Then there goes my sea life. I was a 4th officer in this company, which I don't understand why they have such a rank when other company is either cadet or 3rd officer. Previously, they had Training 3rd Officer, which later changed to 4th officer. Guess this is the reason of cost cutting. Lol.
I currently still sailing but recently change my company coz, the pay more (insanely more) than what my previous company gave. But when I think back, I shouldn't have leave my previous company. Yes the money is good. But when you worked with unprofessional people and takes things for granted, it just makes you sick. Some of them even have to face racism issues on-board. In my whole sailing career, even I did not have 10 years experience, but I've seen a Captain being scolded by the Pilot there because he is arguing with the 2nd mate. Can you believe it? Pilotage, and there they are, screaming with each other. I was like OMG. But I have to say. The ship that I was on, took me to places I've never been before, such as Japan, Australia, and China. And I am really glad that I can "travel" to those places.
Some of you might envied with the places that I have been before. But let me tell you one thing. It's not really free travel as you thought. Imagine this, The ship is safely alongside and you have to keep cargo watch for 4 hours. In my previous ship, I was doing 0400-0800 and 1600-2000 watch. So of course you want to sight seeing in daytime. So after my watch finished at 0800, I quickly have breakfast and shower, then ready before 0900. Then comes the cab waiting and the travel time to the city which variable from places to places. In this case, I'll use Sydney as an example. So the journey time from the port to Darling Harbour is almost 1 hour! So in this case, I will reach there at around 1030, assuming that we took 30 mins for exit clearance and cab wait time. And I have to be back on the ship by 1600 to take over watch. which leaves me only about 4 hours to roam around. Who in the world can tour the entire Sydney only in 4 hours. Needless to say. You are sacrificing your rest time just for that 4 hours of "fun".
Wife and kids you ask?
I am currently single. And my responsibilities are my parents and my newly bought Nissan. Recently, I am also kind of giving up on love.
I must warn you. I am not a hot guy or people's choice to be their boyfriend. Size, XL shirts. 36/38 Jeans, 10/11 Shoes and XL boxers. Smoker, probably gonna be an alcoholic. So, I always thought, "it's ok that you don't have the package, as long as you are kind to others". But guess what. Oh no. That seems wrong too. People still looking for the six pack guy and all. So, why even bother anymore. One night, I asked, what happened with calling me Jamie like before. Turns out I am not cute to be called like that. Give me a break. You called me that after we met for the first time and suddenly in our second meeting, I am not cute? Maybe I should knock your head so that some senses will come to you.
I guess that is enough for now. I don't know if I will update my blog again in the future. And if I do, I still can't decide if I am gonna do it on weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half yearly, or yearly basis.
